@GlennSM28 Hmmm…very interesting. I tried it myself and found a trick that might help. When you are cutting a video, don’t use the slider to set your “cut” point. Use the double arrows >> below the slider. Each click will move the slider by a very small increment so you should be able to do a 3 second cut. It tried it with a 10 minute video…but I don’t have videos longer than that. I’m interested in hearing if it works for 1 hour videos.

    Cheers,

Great video – thanks for the guidance. I have just loaded a video on YT which is over an hour and I just want to cut out about three secs from the beginning. The YT editor facility only seems willing to let me cut 10secs or more. Is this correct?
Is there a solution? I could re-do the edit on imovie but that would appear to mean starting again from the beginning. Grateful for any help you can give

@iamawesomeprods There are many softwares available for editing your videos on your computer before uploading them to YouTube. If you are using a PC, I recommend trying Sony Vegas Movie Studio. If you are using a Mac, then I highly recommend using iMovie.

Wait how do you efit videos that haven’t been uploaded to youtube already?

  • hanimourra says:

@CarelisleJaenn19 You’re welcome. The YouTube edit is pretty slick. They are constantly adding new features to make it a power online video marketing tool

@hanimourra ok thanks i figured it out on this other video but thanks for replying to.

  • hanimourra says:

@TheSteezyPlayer Once you log in you should see the Upload button across the top. It takes some time to upload videos, so make sure you don’t click it twice.

  • TheSteezyPlayer says:

omg i dont know how to upload the video i uploaded 2 but idk how to put the other one i dont want this trim bullcrap i want to learn how to upload it

@femaleblacks If you click on the Music icon on the top, you can choose from the list of available soundtracks that YouTube provides (just click and drag into your project). I also noticed that you can control the volume of the music vs the volume of your videos using the slider on the bottom right of the editor. Give it a try and let me know if that works for you.

  • hanimourra says:

@HackManiack Great question. Unfortunately, you can edit existing YouTube videos, but you have to save them as a new video.

  • hanimourra says:

@MysteryFunHouse Hmmmm…very strange. It might take a few hours before it shows up on YouTube?

  • HackManiack says:

can i edit a published video just to add a intro or i would need to make a new video

  • MysteryFunHouse says:

5 clips edited & then published as new video. Can i now edit the “new video”, have tried but the new published video does not show up in video editor..

  • hanimourra says:

@Deviantman91 Definitely. Once you publish your new video you can log into YouTube and download your video. Sweet!

  • hanimourra says:

@courtneymetcalf it is not the greatest…but it is legal at least :)

  • hanimourra says:

@samhaiti You’re very welcome. Always glad to help.

  • samhaiti says:

@hanimourra wonderful idea! “till something …. OF course after all that just put the two videos together.
    Thanks

  • hanimourra says:

@jamer1226 Great questions. To edit out the middle parts of your video, all you need to do is add the same clip to the YouTube editor twice, trim (adjust the start and end times of each clip) so that the middle part is no longer there. That should do the trick.

    Cheers,
    Hani
