How many of us article marketers started our careers with the hope of making a fortune on the internet by writing a few articles and waited for the money to role in? Soon we discover that all is not as the gurus proclaimed.
“Writing On The Web” is a book I wish that I had read before I started on this journey. Making money on the Internet is not difficult, but there is more to it than just writing and publishing a few articles.
“Writing On The Web” takes you through all the steps you need to know to get your articles published and indexed by search engines and consequently to make sales.
No steps are skipped. I remember visiting countless forums and buying into many article writing courses only to ask myself, “OK, now what? What I am I supposed to do with this information? What do I do next?”
Here is an excerpt from the Introduction:
“I wish I could tell you that by reading this book you will learn everything you need to know to become a super affiliate, a million dollar article writer. Well, I cannot and I will not. I will let the gurus tell you that. It is not because the information in this book is not valuable. It is. The fact is that there is much to learn that only experience can teach you.”
And another from Chapter 1:
“This may seem somewhat obvious, but you would be surprised at how many article writers forget their main goal – You are marketing a product with your articles.
You do that by directing your readers to a single webpage, an entire website, a blog or you can redirect them straight to a vendor’s sales page from your article or your website.
Using a redirect, you do not need a website or webpage. A redirect is a website link pointing to another site, also known as a 301 redirect. With a redirect, you simply link to your vendor’s sales page from within your article. I will explain more in Chapter 4 on how you do this.”
There is no hype in this book. It tells is like it is. It guides you step by step from choosing a niche, to writing your article, to promoting the article and ultimately to getting ranked high on the search engine results. Its claims are supported by unsolicited testimonials that praise the book’s effectiveness.
I particularly liked the glossary at the end of the book, a very helpful resource to both the experienced and novice article writer. Every article writer should own this book. It is a great reference.
In any case, experienced and novice article writers can benefit from this book. Like the sales pitch says, it is a road map, a guide to get you from point A to point B all in one book, “Writing On The Web.”
