If you’re a Rozen Maiden fan this commercial takes on a whole new level of significance.
I loved BoKu.Wish they still sold it. This reminds me of Seinfeld the way he’s complaining.

It’s just occurred to me–does this commercial subtly reference Lewis’s being on the wagon (like in Curb Your Enthusiasm)? Just the first phrase, “I go to a party and I’ve got my choice of Coke or Pepsi.”
I think that on the show, though, he’s only supposed to have been sober for a few years. Either way, I thought these spots were the coolest thing in the world when I was 6, and still find them to be pretty decent.

as a child i could never figure out why adults wanted drink boxes as an adult i realize these were used to make mixed drinks because they tasted god awful

This was exactly my experience! I saw this commercial when I was 6 and desperately wanted to try it. When I finally got to, I thought it tasted like old fruit. We never bought it again, especially because my mom said it was too expensive.

Adrian paul from the highlander series did a boku drink commercial. The setting is that he’s a jeans waring leather jacket wearing toughguy sitting on chair on a street corner until hot bg haired woman comes along surrounded in light approaches him sipping from a boku drink. The voice over is something like, ” even tough guys need to have fun.” Adrian also had a mullet at this time.

Boku was a terrible drink and these commercials made me exceptionally irate. I remember, as a kid, desiring Boku as it was forbidden to children. When I finally got to have it I was thoroughly disappointed. It set the stage for the disappointments that would be the rest of my life up to this point.
